Color Ink Book Issue #8 of the black and white art periodical (and coloring book for grown-ups) is now available direct from the Brothers Washburn. This issue features 11 pages of my creatures, along with 89 pages of amazing art from Alex Pardee, Been Deleted, Pale Horse Design, Femke Hiemstra, Jon McNair, MGX Factory, Tom Haubrick, Travis Lampe and Workhorse.
There is a special limited edition that was released during SDCC featuring my own cover art which is available for $15 here.
Hey everyone, there is a new shop! We’ve added the new Creatures DSV t-shirt, along with a hearty helping of Android goods (coming tomorrow – more information here!). Please check it out and thanks for all the support!
Are you ready for The 2010 International Comic-Con in San Diego?! Me neither, but I’ll be there anyway. Here is a quick roundup of a few places I’ll be and what I’ll be doing!
Wednesday through Sunday during most of the convention:
Dumbrella, Booth 1335/1337
Selling merchandise and chatting with fans!
Thursday, 11:30am-12:30pm Panel room 3
Dumbrella discussion panel where we answer questions and bullshit for an hour (it is usually fun and occasionally accidentally informative).
Friday, 11am-12pm
Color Ink Book, Booth #5569
Signing the new issue and doodling.
Here are some of the goodies available from me at booth 1335/1337, including the new Creatures DSV and CopperBot Android T-shirts, Android collectibles series 1, and introducing Android Collectibles Do It Yourself edition. Oh yes and angel/devil panties are back for your lady
I teamed up with Chicago-based artist and master of plush Lana Crooks and my sister & brother-in-law’s Cafe Grumpy to bring the logo I designed to life in these super cute plush grumpy coffee beans! Much like real coffee beans, each hand-made plush is a little different with its own personality.
Each 7″ bean comes in its own hand sewn and screened jute bags.
There is even a rarer “green bean” edition!
There are not too many to go around, so hopefully you can get into one of Cafe Grumpy’s NYC locations, or snag one online starting Wednesday.
Break out your crayons! A new issue of the black and white art periodical Color Ink Book gets unleashed at booth #5569 during the 2010 International Comic-Con in San Diego. Produced by the Brothers Washurn, this issue features artwork and limited edition covers by Alex Pardee (75), Andrew Bell (50), Femke Hiemstra, (50) Travis Lampe (50) and Workhorse (50).
Blast from the past! This artwork was originally a 6 foot tall piece for my 2005 show at Kidrobot in NYC. I’ve had a ton of requests for a more manageable size reproduction over the years, so here is a 18″x36″ 4c lithograph, signed and numbered, edition of 200
The Print Club members have been enjoying this for a few months, but now it is available to everyone else in the Dead Zebra Shop and in a few stores around the world / internets (if your favorite toy/specialty shop carries my items, they might have this in stock as well, just ask!)
Also available only from the Dead Zebra Shop, the prequel to Creature DSV-2, predictably titled Creature DSV-1. A 2 color letterpress on cream colored lettra paper.
Here’s a preview of The Art Hustle trading cards! I knew I wasn’t going to cut it in sports, who knew I would still get my own trading card? This is a really fun / silly project put together by the cardhacks. Cards feature photos of artists with some stats on the back, art cards, and mixed in are signed cards and original artwork cards.. and possibly some stale bubble gum? Check out the impressive Series 1 roster!
After UPS decided to play rugby with the first set, a fresh batch of the screamin’ bird screen prints for the Poster Cause Project finally came in for me to sign/number.
I took a few angle shots to show off the background cage detail.
This was planned and in the works for a while, but it is finally upon us, we have added tags to over 1,800 creature drawings! We’ve also improved the search results page to display full posts for most categories, this might take a little longer to load but you will be able to find what you want a lot easier.
SKWAAAAA. The Poster Cause Project produces posters and prints with the proceeds going to a number of reputable charities. They’re now offering screen prints, starting with my piece above!
It is a 4 color 18″x24″ print. (the dark grey you see there is a texture printed under the black, in case you are color counting), signed and numbered edition of 50, with 100% of the profits being donated to ACF/Action Against Hunger. Please help support a worthy cause, and get some nice art for yourself in the process!
They are currently up for pre-order at $65 (includes shipping), and are due to begin shipping on May 16th, 2010.
XFUNS magazine is a really nicely put together bilingual (Chinese/English) art magazine out of Taiwan. They feature a ton of great artists and designers, and for some reason they recently featured me! I have an 8 page spread and interview in the new designer toy focused issue, along with the likes of Michael Lau, Flying Fortress, Nathan Jurevicius, Ron English, mr clement and many others!
Their English site seems to be down, but Google Translate does a decent job of the standard site.
