pardon the dustover the next weeks we're doing some spring mid-winter housecleaning, so expect a bunch of broken/missing things!

Beacon

I saw Madeleine Peyroux at the Beacon theater last night, she was good, but not the point of this post. I’ve been to the Beacon a few times and I love all the interior architectural details.

I only found a couple of photos, nothing good on google, only a few on flickr.  It’s always dark in there when I am at shows (duh) and I’d like to get a good look at some of it. Anyone know where to get some more?

These two are from user Hypatia.

It’s that time of year again! MoCCA Artsfest fast approaches, and SD ComicCon is not far behind!

Are you in college and in need of something to do this summer because having fun and partying is just too boring? Well luckily, I’m looking for a production assistant intern! If you know someone in NYC looking for an internship in a creative environment please pass the info along. Bonus if they are currently enrolled in a school such as SVA or Parsons where they can do an internship and earn credits at the same time.

Skate or Die 1989!

I was working on some skate deck graphics today, and buying myself a Jim PhillipsScreaming Hand” toy, so I got all nostalgic for my childhood.. through my early adulthood.

Skate or Die! 1989
Here I am, 10 or 11, shamelessly posing. Maybe I was showing off my dope new Natas Kaupas deck,
or my awesome Vision Street Wear shorts.. no, I was probably showing off my amazing bowl haircut.

Skate or Die!
Here is a Rampenstein we had in our driveway for a while. It was built from the remains of an old ramp with a few inches added and a deck built out. The thing was a monster and probably should have been condemned.. look at that transition and total lack of vert. Never let 11 and 12 year olds near a hammer and a saw unless you are falling behind on your Ark building.

I read up on how to ACTUALLY build a ramp. We built a pretty good 8′ wide, 6′ tall quarter pipe for the driveway, much to the neighbors’ chagrin. A few years later I built a 4′ tall mini halfpipe in my garage.. that was the ultimate. How I miss that miniramp!

Productplugs!

Just a note to show off some new products that are out! Also I’d like to point out that this is the first time that TCIMH shirts have been made available at wholesale rates to quite a few real-world and online retailers other than the good ole Dead Zebra Inc shop!

Soon you will be able to find T’s, books and more in shops such as Hero and Sound in Buffalo NY, Park Ave CDs in Orlando, FL, Forbidden Planet and Octane3 in the UK, as well as various shops in and around Singapore, South Africa, Mexico, and France!

If you own a shop and would like to be included in future wholesale offerings please contact DKE Distribution.

Here’s some of the fun new stuff:

While I’m on the topic of selling stuff, both Sam Brown and John Allison have new books available that are great!
